As I am thinking about my next post about what kids and teens are capable of… I am remembering two quotes from Albert Schweitzer (theologian, philosopher, physician and missionary and organist) who received the 1952 Nobel Peace Prize for his philosophy of “Reverence for Life“.
“In everyone’s life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.”
— Albert Schweitzer
As you watch the first of a two-part video of 10-year-old Jeremie, think about how a “video encounter” with this young man helps “rekindle our inner spirit,” as he models self-reliant action and significant contribution to others.
